#7) Project ForkenSwift electric car: battery pack hot swap!

Future Auto Jobs (hybrids and electric car, ect)?
Okay, Im in highschool and i want to see what kind of jobs i can look for. What collage or tech school should i go to for a high paying auto job. Maybe working for ford, Mercedes, ect. What should i study. I know for a fact that the auto industry is trying to make an alternative to fossil fuels. Maybe study for hybrids and Electric Cars?
A few years ago, nitro powered RC (radio control) cars were the best thing around for speed and power, electric cars cars were non-competitive. But now, the technology has advance so much for instance lithium polymer batteries, and brushless motors. Electric cars are now the fastest thing ever, making the nitro cars a thing of the past.
So this is what i think the auto industry is going into. This is where i think the money is, and what i should be looking into.
So are there any jobs that i can be looking into that involves hybrids and ect? What kind of college or training should i go to?
Thanks
Vincent, the best answer is first, big car makers will not continue to make electric powered cars. They never intend to and their track record proves it. When GM made the first of the production line electrics (a beautiful & technical vehicle) they deliberately made it so expensive only a limited number where leased. You see that I said “leased: for GM would not sell the car for they had hidden agendas for the car’s future. The company quickly recalled all of their electrics and scrapped them (crushed the entire car & battery system) which left the drivers who begged them to sell the cars to them, in the lurch.
This pattern also goes for all of Detroit manufactures. Vincent, look up electric auto clubs in your state or neighborhood and join them to learn more about the makeup of an E-Car. The EAA is the largest organization in America and chapters all over.

I’ve come across an excellent resource on how to convert your gas guzzler into a highly efficient Electric Motor vehicle. And the good news is that building Electric Cars isn’t very hard to do. You will need 10 – 12 deep cycle batteries, an electric motor battery charger, controller and (of course) a good set of Electric Car Conversion Motor plans.....
